This seminar provides an discussion to multivariate statistics methods used by geographers to analyze and interpret geographic data and solve geographic problems. Topics include multiple regression，path analysis，principal component analysis, factor analysis and so on . Through this seminar, students will have a basic understanding of multivariate methods used by geographers and will be able to analyze and interpret geographic data and solve geographic problems from the statistical perspective.
The goals of this seminar are： 1. To help students learn how to use Statistical software of SPSS，AMOS and Lisrel to real geographic problem solving. 2. To help students understand the proper use of multivariate statistics in geographical research.
