Course Description:
 

The course aims to give students an understanding of principles and mechanisms of main soil remediation technologies. These technologies include phytoremediation, chemical remediation, physical remediation and bioremediation. Basic concepts of reactivity of soil particles, bioaccumulation, bioavailability, speciation and risk assessment of polluted soil for humans and ecosystems are also explained in this course. The prerequisites courses include environmental soil science, soil science and soil chemistry. After this course the students should be able to understand main soil remediation technologies and be able to apply it to some soil remediation projects. Students will gain scores consist of the scores of their homework and the final exam.
